The Schaeffler company received Innovation Award for the digitalization of their waste management

Schaeffler Skalica, a branch of a global supplier to the automotive and industrial sectors, won the Slovak Facility Management Association’s annual award in the Innovation of the Year category. The Waste Management Digitization project, which Schaeffler implemented using Sensoneo solution for industrial customers, has helped the company to shift from manual to data-driven waste management within months and to achieve remarkable results.

Thanks to the Sensoneo solution, Schaeffler monitors container fill levels in real time, automatically plans collections and routes, eliminates unnecessary trips and human error, and provides clear data and transparency throughout the entire process. The project originally started as a pilot for metal waste, but now also includes paper and plastic waste and precious metals.

Since the deployment of the solution, Schaffler company managed to achieve following results:

• 66,7% decrease in number of waste collections
• savings of 32 889 kg CO₂
• more than 5 million kg of waste digitized
• increased work efficiency and remarkable cost savings

The award was presented to Filip Veselý, representative of Schaeffler, by Silvia Nagyová, president of the Slovak Facility Management Association.

„Thanks to the solution we now have data that we use to measure everything from container fill levels to final waste weighing. The result is lower emissions, higher recycling rates, and savings in both time and money,» explains Miroslava Hanzlovičová, head of the waste management team at Schaeffler Skalica.
