Forbes: The title of EY Technological Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 was awarded to Andrea Basilová and Martin Basila from the company SENSONEO

When Andrea and Martin Basila founded Sensoneo in 2017, they knew that the waste industry had huge potential. Cities and businesses often don’t have an overview of how much waste they actually produce, and garbage trucks run on a fixed schedule, not based on real needs. The result is wasted resources, high costs, and unnecessary emissions. The company operates the largest smart waste system in Madrid with more than 11,000 sensors and has launched similar projects in Qatar and Buenos Aires.
