Radar Sensor for Liquid Waste Fill-Level Monitoring

Sensoneo Radar Sensor is an advanced solution for monitoring liquid fill-levels in challenging environments, such as oil and underground water, including corrosive substances like kerosene. Unlike Sensoneo’s core ultrasonic-based sensor technology, the Radar Sensor utilizes a fully enclosed, waterproof IP69 casing and does not rely on horns for ultrasound transmission.

The radar technology enables non-invasive measurements through non-metallic materials like plastic, allowing it to measure fill levels even through walls, screens, or barriers. In other words, the radar sensor does not have to be mounted inside the plastic bin, but can be installed outside. This makes it extraordinarily beneficial, for example, with plastic oil tanks.

As the radar waves are smaller than ultrasonic waves and can rebound from almost all materials to transmit fill-level data, this technology is also highly suitable for metal bins and containers. These unique features make the Sensoneo Radar Sensor ideal for monitoring hazardous waste, used cooking oil, and kerosene levels in plastic tanks.

Equipped with Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) functionality, the sensor sends real-time data to Sensoneo’s software platform via IoT networks, with connectivity options in NBIoT and CAT-M1. As the fill levels appear in the Waste Management System (WMS) platform by Sensoneo, this data can be effectively used for fully automated dynamic route planning. One of the main competitive advantages of the Radar Sensor by Sensoneo is the company’s own measuring algorithm, which is easily adaptable based on customer demands. Additionally, the diagnostics are much broader than with the use of a template algorithm.

The applications are vast:

  • Used cooking oil bins and dumpsters
  • Kerosene levels in plastic tanks
  • Hazardous waste

Key benefits for different stakeholders:

  • Used cooking oil collectors can protect their valuable resources with instant theft alerts
  • Homeowners can prevent heating oil shortages
  • Industrial facilities can monitor hazardous waste levels safely and remotely

Experience the technological advantages:

  • Measurements through non-metal materials: Conduct non-invasive measurements through materials like plastic, making it ideal for hazardous waste or kerosene oil level monitoring in plastic tanks.
  • Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA): Seamlessly update firmware for enhanced performance and connectivity via NB-IoT or CAT-M1.
  • Completely closable and waterproof IP69 casing.

Available networks

We do not limit customers to a certain network. Our customers have sensors connected to several networks – it all depends on the connectivity available in the given location. Radar Sensor from Sensoneo can be connected to two IoT networks – NB-IoT and the Cat-M1 wireless network. Data is sent in real time to our Smart Waste Management System, one of the best waste management software on the market.

Payload and network communication is encrypted on two levels preventing misuse of Sensoneo Sensors for DDOS attacks.
