Monday 21st of May was a very important day for Slovakia and the future of the country. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen visited Bratislava to announce the approval of the Slovak Recovery plan by the European Commission.
Slovakia was the fifth fastest EU country out of 27 to deliver the recovery plan. „Be fast is good, but there has to be quality. And there is a lot of quality in this plan“ said von der Leyen regarding euractiv.sk.
At the evaluation of the plan, European Commission controlled if at least 37 percent out of the 6.3 billion volume of money will be invested to the green transformation and at least 20 percent to the digitalization. Slovakia reached these numbers with 43 percent directed to climate protection and 21 percent focusing on the digitalization.
During the occasion of von der Leyen’s visit, top innovative Slovak companies including Sensoneo could spend the time with her and present their innovative and technological solutions. CEO of Sensoneo Martin Basila appreciated the interest of the President of the European Commission in technologies:
„We are honored that part of the visit of Mrs. von der Leyen was also the introduction of top Slovak innovative companies with a focus on support of the targets of European Green agreement and biotechnologies. We were sincerely happy about her active interest in different technologies and about the fact that first words of her speech were addressed especially to the innovative companies which help to build the ecosystem supporting the recovery plan.“
In 2020 Sensoneo has been selected as one of the companies to win a prestigious EIC Accelerator grant, targeted to innovative technology projects supporting the objectives of the European Green Deal. EIC Accelerator is part of the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot that offers Europe’s brightest and boldest entrepreneurs the chance to step forward and request funding for breakthrough ideas with the potential to create entirely new markets or revolutionize existing ones.
