Thank you 2023, it was a blast! We were scaling our products, expanding to new markets, raising a Series A investment, building the World’s largest smart waste installation, presenting our technology to the Dutch Royal Couple, and finishing it all by implementing the largest deposit return system in the World. This year was hell of intense! All this magic was possible thanks to our team, which has impressively grown to over 100 human pieces this year. We had a lot of fun in what we did, and the joy always brings results, right?

This year was intense in terms of implementing our solutions and scaling them to the specific needs of our customers. We did an impressive job by building the World’s largest smart waste installation by deploying 11.000 smart sensors into waste bins in the city of Madrid.
Sensoneo’s Factory Waste Management solution brought a huge novelty to the smart waste industry, bringing the added value of our solutions to factories. This year we have implemented the solution at all plants of one of the leading agriculture car manufacturers in Germany and at the facility centers of the leading warehouse company in the UK, helping them improve the circularity of their locations, boost sustainability KPIs, and minimize resources. Throughout this year, our Waste Management System software platform has seen a series of impactful updates, both on the frontend and backend, introducing new functionalities that enhance user experience and system performance. Notably, our Dashboard underwent a significant redesign, improving design aesthetics and functionality. This release includes the integration of new map features and enhanced table functionality. Additionally, we introduced a powerful Analytics module, featuring a comprehensive PowerBI report covering key metrics such as collections, measurements, average fill rates, diversion rates, and collection frequencies.
Moreover, we have successfully implemented the first POCs of Bin Access Management solution outside Slovakia, for instance in Belgium, Romania, or Slovenia, and boosted our software platform Lockneo with new features to become more user-friendly.
Last but not least, we have reached a magic number in our DRS division. As the pioneering company on a global scale, we have successfully deployed our software for deposit return schemes in over five countries, and we’re going for more in 2024! Notably, our system is now operational in Romania, hosting the largest centralized DRS system in the world.

One of the main milestones of this year was the Series A investment of 6.2 million euros we have raised. Enormous work behind. Sincere thanks to our investors for their trust, the Series A lead investor was Taiwania Capital, with participation from our current investors Crowdberry, EIC Fund, and Venture to Future Fund.

Our software solution for the deposit return scheme (DRS) is pretty much unique and makes the Slovak DRS scheme (also the one in Malta, Romania, Hungary, and Ireland) one of the most advanced deposit systems globally. That is why it was presented as an example of circular economy best practice to King William-Alexander of the Netherlands, Queen Máxima, and President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová, beginning of this year.

We were getting much of a Frenchie vibe at Pollutec 2023, one of the most important waste and environment exhibitions in France, expanding our business in the region and meeting other industry leaders, and environmental enthusiasts.
Sincere thanks to the European Innovation Council for inviting us to GITEX GLOBAL 2023, the largest and most influential technology event in the world. That was huge, bringing us enormous opportunities, in one of the main smart technology regions in the world.
Finishing the trade fair year with an impressive stand at Ecomondo 2023, in Rimini. Not only we could meet many potential customers, but we have practiced a lot of hand-expressed language.
Our team turned 100, in awesome human pieces.
This is a huge thing; however, we desperately hope this number never makes us become a corporate. Most of our team works in R&D, doing some real science, the rest is also the coolest. Continuously in search of new brains (and bigger team-building places), we can’t wait to welcome new faces in 2024!

Sensoneo was ranked 25 out of the top 50 fastest-growing technology companies among 16 countries in the CEE region, with percentual growth of 988%. Further, we received the renowned Energy Globe Award for our innovative solutions in the field of waste management (and outstanding contribution to the circular economy). Ego aside, there is still a lot of work in front of us.
What is to expect in 2024?
Huge things to be announced beginning of 2024, DRS in Ireland and Hungary will go live and we are about to build the biggest smart waste installation in the Middle East by deploying 7500 smart sensors in Qatar. The city of Prague will go on its third expansion of the smart waste project, and we are planning to launch our radar sensor technology.
